Requirements:

Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
Proven experience in software development using COBOL in professional environments
Proficiency in COBOL programming language, including fundamental concepts, control structures, file manipulation, and database interaction
Familiarity with mainframe environments, including operating systems such as z/OS, z/VM, and database management systems like DB2
Experience in integrating COBOL-based legacy systems with modern systems, using integration technologies such as APIs, messaging, or web services
Ability to maintain, debug, and modernize legacy systems written in COBOL, preserving existing functionality and introducing enhancements as needed
Capacity to identify and resolve complex issues in COBOL systems, including logic errors, performance problems, and integration with other parts of the system
Willingness to learn new technologies and development methods, as well as adapt to changes in project requirements and technology stack
