Job Description:

Your role will entail driving the profitable expansion of the Southern regional renewal business amidst an ambitious growth period. You’ll become an integral part of a top-performing team, assessing larger and more intricate risks. Our client seeks a candidate with a deep understanding of the commercial and/or financial lines market, someone vibrant and motivated with a wide-ranging expertise eager to share knowledge and bolster a team of underwriters. This opportunity provides an excellent platform for career advancement.

Job Responsibility:

Establishing a reputation the go to underwriter across the region
Consistently and profitably underwriting larger, more intricate cases
Collaborating effectively within a structured regional team, prioritising branch trading
Demonstrating self-motivation, delivering high-quality results while managing a case load independently
Spearheading and implementing the local underwriting strategy for your specialised area in coordination with the Regional Manager and Regional Underwriting Manager
Taking ownership of the target retention rate for your caseload and region, providing support as needed
Staying abreast of the competitive landscape, from market shifts to new product launches

Requirements:

Strong commercial and/or financial lines underwriting experience
A thorough grasp of the businesses products and the capacity to underwrite larger, more intricate risks effectively
Comprehensive understanding of the insurance market, including industry dynamics, competitors, brokers, and factors influencing market conditions such as soft/hard markets
Strong trading acumen and interpersonal abilities
