Job Description:
The Compliance Risk Country Officer (CRCO) is responsible for overseeing the Compliance Program for all Citi activity within the jurisdiction: regulated branches, legal entities and other affiliates, as well as shared service centers, such as Citi Service Centers (CSCs). This includes ensuring global policies, standards and processes are applied, and suitable addenda and supplementary procedures established and maintained for compliance with applicable jurisdictional laws and regulations.
Job Responsibility:
  • Overseeing the Compliance Program for all Citi activity within the jurisdiction
  • ensuring global policies, standards and processes are applied
  • implementing applicable global compliance processes
  • setting Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM) priorities
  • driving transformation
  • providing franchise support to the Citi Country Officer and country management
  • facilitating the implementation of the Compliance Risk Management (CRM) Framework
  • preparing and completing an annual compliance risk management plan
  • preparing quarterly State of Compliance reports
  • enhancing governance
  • developing senior management relationships
  • managing regulatory relationships
  • ensuring prompt identification and evaluation of new and amended laws
  • providing strategic direction for Anti-Money Laundering compliance risk management
  • ensuring ICRM training reflects local regulations
  • leading the ICRM team to provide compliance risk management direction
  • supporting ICRM efforts to enhance technology and automation
Requirements:
  • Preference for post graduate degree and/or recognized professional qualifications where applicable
  • strong technical knowledge of compliance regulations and requirements
  • experience within a highly complex, global financial institution, regulator or related industry participant
  • credibility as a subject matter expert
  • experience of working with key country level regulators and industry associations
  • knowledge of local regulatory requirements and obligations
  • ability to influence senior business leaders
  • strong team leadership, communication, interpersonal and management skills
  • effective negotiation skills
  • strong presentation and relationship management skills
Nice to have:
  • Professional qualifications such as CRMC, CPA, ACA, CIA, CFA, ACAMS
  • ability to navigate and negotiate through conflicting demands
  • proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues
