As the Controller, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented financial leader with strong technical accounting skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards
Manage the company’s financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Monitor cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity to support business operations and projects
Lead the year-end close process and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits
Identify and implement best practices to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local tax regulations, and lead tax preparation in collaboration with external advisors
Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning and provide actionable insights to support decision-making
Support financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting related to real estate investment and development projects
Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering growth and professional development
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
CPA certification (preferred but not required)
At least 3 years of experience as a Controller
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Excellent proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
experience with property management or real estate software is a plus
Demonstrated ability to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively collaborate across departments and with senior management
Nice to have:
CPA certification
experience with property management or real estate software
