Job Description:

As the Controller, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented financial leader with strong technical accounting skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards
  • Manage the company’s financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Monitor cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity to support business operations and projects
  • Lead the year-end close process and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local tax regulations, and lead tax preparation in collaboration with external advisors
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning and provide actionable insights to support decision-making
  • Support financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting related to real estate investment and development projects
  • Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering growth and professional development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
  • CPA certification (preferred but not required)
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Controller
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Excellent proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • experience with property management or real estate software is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively collaborate across departments and with senior management

Nice to have:
