Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting and financial operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have in-depth manufacturing experience and be well-versed in invoicing, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), inventory management, cost accounting, and other essential accounting functions. Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate closely with production and operations teams while effectively managing financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including AR, AP, payroll, inventory, and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls
  • Prepare and manage month-end and year-end closings, financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
  • Ensure proper support and authorization for payments, adherence to credit policies, and timely customer collections
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial and operational outcomes
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to align financial processes with manufacturing goals
  • Lead internal audits, implement corrections, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Maintain accurate records through account reconciliations and ensure the integrity of inventory systems
  • Offer support and training to accounting staff and provide mentorship within the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience (CPA preferred)
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency in GAAP principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Proven ability to manage inventory and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and adapt to a hands-on manufacturing setting
  • Solid leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities
