This is a permanent Controller position based in Norcross, GA. The role involves leading accounting and clerical departments, planning and directing accounting operational functions, handling financial data for internal and external statements, evaluating accounting systems, and leading departmental staff. The ideal candidate is a creative team player with strong leadership skills, the ability to manage high-pressure environments, and a talent for challenging the status quo.
Job Responsibility:
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Give financial reports to the executive committee and partners each month
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor every month
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures
CPA/MBA preferred
Month-end closings experience
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, prioritize deals, and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Skillful in analytical, quantitative, and social skills
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Nice to have:
CPA/MBA preferred
