Job Description:

This is a career-fast-track opportunity for a Controller role in Alsip, IL. The position involves overseeing financial processes, liaising with auditors, mentoring team members, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role offers a competitive salary range of $200,000-$210,000 plus bonus, with benefits including medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance.

Job Responsibility:

Perform initial review of quarterly NAV close process and financial statements
liaise with external auditors
research technical accounting issues
oversee financial analysts
prepare and review capital calls and distributions
monitor fund cash flows
engage with Fund Administrator, traders, brokers, and custodians
ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting
mentor/coach team members
assist with ad-hoc requests and projects
collaborate across the Firm’s finance team

Requirements:

7+ years of experience in financial accounting, audit, or finance function for an alternative investment manager
exposure to credit, private equity funds, or hedge funds
strong accounting and finance experience with private funds and fund structures
experience with external audit processes and procedures
knowledge of accounting principles including US GAAP and Investment Company Accounting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA license preferred
proficient in Microsoft Office
strong Excel skills
high level of proficiency in accounting software and other applications/tools
strong organizational skills
adaptable to change and a fast-paced environment
ability to communicate with all levels of management
critical thinking and problem-solving skills
collaborative team member with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
