Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join a rapidly growing client’s team in the construction industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to oversee and lead the financial operations of a growing organization. As the Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, providing strategic insights, and supporting the business in achieving its goals.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Manage the monthly close process and ensure compliance with GAAP
Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to support business growth
Develop and monitor financial KPIs and processes to optimize efficiency
Guide the preparation of Percentage-of-Completion (PoC) or Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost accounting and project profitability analysis
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including audits and tax filings
Supervise and mentor accounting staff to maintain high performance and foster professional growth

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
CPA certification or an MBA (preferred but not required)
5–10+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in the construction industry (required)
Strong knowledge of Percentage-of-Completion (PoC), Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and construction accounting
Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Nice to have:

CPA certification or an MBA
