Job Description:

The Cook II prepares and cooks a variety of dishes and ingredients according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards. The role involves operating various kitchen appliances, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and collaborating with the culinary team.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare ingredients for cooking according to recipes and quality standards
operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, and fryers
monitor food quality during preparation
set up and break down the workstation
ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness standards
collaborate with team members to achieve collective goals.

Requirements:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
prepare cold foods
operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
monitor food quality while preparing food
set up and break down work station
serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles
wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
adhere to safety and security policies and report unsafe conditions
stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
move, lift, carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds
maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.

Nice to have:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
at least 1 year of related work experience.
