Job Description:

Job Responsibility:

Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, addressing insurance, billing, or appointment scheduling questions
Assist patients with navigating healthcare services, including referrals and preauthorization forms
Provide empathetic and professional communication to resolve patient issues or complaints
Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, ensuring documentation is compliant with healthcare privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA)
Update patient files and verify insurance information at the time of service
Assist in processing medical documentation such as referrals, prescriptions, and test results
Coordinate with medical staff and other team members to troubleshoot and streamline operations
Follow up with patients regarding appointments, test results, or outstanding inquiries

Requirements:

High school diploma required
some college coursework in healthcare administration is a plus
1+ year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with attention to detail and confidentiality
Familiarity with medical records systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or related software) and general office software like Microsoft Office Suite
