Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with a healthcare organization seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Payment Poster to join their team. Job Responsibility:

Accurately post dental insurance payments, personal payments, and adjustments to patient accounts in a timely manner
reconcile payment discrepancies by researching and resolving issues with insurance companies, dental providers, and patients
verify explanation of benefits (EOBs) for accuracy and ensure payments are applied correctly according to contracts and guidelines
maintain detailed records of all transactions and document errors or trends to improve processes
communicate effectively with billing departments, insurance carriers, and dental office personnel to resolve payment-related inquiries
assist with month-end reporting and account reconciliation as needed
ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company privacy policies

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in dental or medical payment posting, with a solid understanding of dental insurance terminology and coding
familiarity with dental billing software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet tools
exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
excellent verbal and written communication skills
knowledge of HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations related to patient billing
proficiency in claims research and EOBs
must have experience with appeals
familiarity with billing functions
skilled in claim administration
knowledge of dental benefits
understanding of dental terminology
experience with Dentrix dental software
proficiency in dealing with insurance (dental)
understanding of EOB - explanation of benefits
prior experience as a medical payment poster

Nice to have:

Experience in dental or healthcare billing and accounts receivable management
basic understanding of accounting principles and reporting
previous experience working with dental providers or dental service organizations
