A Deputy Headteacher is sought for a small, specialist SEMH school in Saxmundham, Suffolk, serving pupils aged 11-17. Job Responsibility:
Deputising for the Headteacher when necessary
proactively contributing to the leadership team
modelling a consistently aspirational approach, ensuring 'Highest Expectations for All'
embodying the vision and ethos of the School and the wider organisation
holding responsibility for Personal Development, Behaviour and Attitudes
managing resources to ensure the best outcomes
promoting and securing engagement and involvement with staff, parents and the wider community
ensuring that the vision of the School is clearly articulated, understood and acted upon effectively by all staff
ensuring that the school's statutory requirements are met
providing strategic leadership that constructively evaluates and then drives forwards high standards for 'Behaviour and Attitudes' and 'Personal Development'
contributing to the strategic leadership that secures the continuation of improvements for 'Quality of Education', acting as a role model for all staff
involving and developing others in the leadership of the Schools to embed a distributive approach
collaborating with other Schools within the organisation to pursue and attain shared goals.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, along with extensive experience teaching students with SEMH needs
proven track record of successful leadership
adept at managing complex behaviours and creating a positive and structured learning environment
strong advocate for inclusive education and passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaborative work with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
