Job Description:

Are you an experienced accounting leader ready to take on a high-impact role in a private-equity-backed company poised for rapid growth? A rising organization in the greater Annapolis area is looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee and enhance its financial infrastructure. Operating in a fast-paced environment, this role offers a chance to work closely with leadership and play a pivotal part in the company’s strategic financial direction.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and manage all accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP/IFRS and government contracting standards
Build and refine scalable processes, improve internal controls, and ensure overall operational efficiency
Oversee adherence to federal contracting regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance, ensuring audit readiness and operational accuracy
Collaborate with executive leadership to enhance forecasting, budgeting, and financial strategy for long-term success
Take the lead in developing a high-performing accounting team and create opportunities to expand and mentor staff as the company grows

Requirements:

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership roles in high-growth companies or government contracting
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance
Hands-on expertise with Deltek, Costpoint, Unanet, or a similar financial platform
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or equivalent credential is highly preferred
Proven success in optimizing accounting structures, implementing processes, and ensuring financial operational success in compliance-heavy environments
Must be able to get your secret clearance
Preference will be given to candidates who already have an active clearance
Public Accounting experience preferred
