Job Description:

The Director of Accounting will oversee the RTR process, enhance business standards, and manage key accounting functions in a global organization. The role requires strong accounting experience, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the RTR process team to ensure efficient functioning
  • Create and implement policies and procedures for the RTR process area
  • Evaluate performance against key performance indicators and service level agreements
  • Communicate performance statistics to business divisions according to KPIs and SLAs
  • Continually enhance the RTR business process by implementing best practices
  • Ensure adherence to audit controls, provide guidance on audit strategy, and aid in maintaining internal and external audit procedures
  • Collaborate with the corporate finance team for initial consolidations of legal entities
  • Act as a point of escalation and final approval for various tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Be the primary contact for all external groups impacting or affected by the RTR process
  • Manage master data and approve requests for master data changes
  • Set and oversee tolerances, parameters, users, and profiles in the master databases in the ERP
  • Build and maintain relationships with the label/affiliates
  • Ensure timely and high-quality service and delivery to the business
  • Oversee Fixed Asset Accounting and Reporting, Intangible Asset Accounting, Transaction Recording, and Intercompany Recharges Accounting
  • Analyze and Reconcile Accounts, Period Close & Consolidation, Financial Reporting, Capital and Artist Project Accounting
  • Conduct Product Cost Planning, Record Production Transactions, Perform Period End Closing and Cost Analysis & Reporting, Set Transfer Prices, Perform Inventory Analysis and Reporting, Profit & Loss Statement Accounting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • MBA/Advanced Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • CPA required
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with ERP’s
  • Ensure period-end and closed activities are completed on time
  • Have experience in global organizations
  • Have a Service Delivery mentality

Nice to have:

  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong work ethic and are a self-starter with effective interpersonal skills with attention to detail who proactively seeks out new solutions
  • Problem-solving, decision-making and continuous operational improvement skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
