As a key member of our hospitality team, the primary responsibility of the Director of Revenue Management is to oversee revenue and inventory management, group housing activities, and related teams to maximize guest room revenue and profitability. This includes pricing, forecasting, demand analysis, and creating sales strategies for transient, wholesale, and group segments. The role also supports the Director of Sales and Marketing with group opportunity analysis, identifies new revenue opportunities, and ensures effective communication of strategies to stakeholders, driving revenue growth and operational success.
Job Responsibility:
Revenue & Inventory Management: Analyze period-end and available data to identify trends, future needs, and obstacles, providing actionable insights for maximizing guest room revenue and profits
Reservation System Maintenance: Regularly check distribution channels, ensuring accurate reservation system information, correct positioning, and competitor analysis
Market Analysis & Reporting: Analyze weekly and monthly STAR reports to assess past performance, competitor strengths, and market share opportunities, providing key insights for strategic adjustments
Budget & Forecasting: Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM), General Manager, Director of Finance, and Front Office to generate accurate room revenue budgets and RevPAR Index forecasts
Sales Strategy: Provide critical input on pricing, demand forecasting, and develop strategies for transient, wholesale, and group segments
Revenue Tests: Initiate, implement, and evaluate revenue tests to improve profitability, adjusting strategies based on real-time data and market conditions
Strategy Communication & Execution: Ensure that sales strategies, availability, and rate restrictions are communicated clearly to the operations team and executed effectively
Internal Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with revenue management strategies and smooth execution across departments
Team Leadership & Development: Manage training, performance appraisals, and development plans for associates, ensuring they are aligned with hotel goals and encouraging career growth
Community Involvement: Actively promote participation in community service events to build positive community relations and foster team cohesion
Brand Equity: Protect and promote the Marriott/PCH Hotels & Resorts brand, ensuring all strategies align with corporate standards
Communication with Stakeholders: Effectively communicate revenue performance, challenges, and strategies with key stakeholders for informed decision-making
Requirements:
Marriott Revenue Management Experience: Must have prior experience in revenue management within a Marriott property, with a deep understanding of Marriott’s revenue management systems, tools, and strategies
Hospitality Revenue Expertise: Proven ability to develop and execute revenue strategies, optimize pricing, and analyze market trends to drive profitability
Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, demand patterns, and competitive positioning, translating data into actionable revenue strategies
Leadership & Team Management: Experience leading and developing a team, fostering collaboration across departments to achieve revenue goals
Technology & Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with Marriott’s revenue management platforms (such as One Yield and Marsha), reservation systems, and distribution channels
Financial Acumen: Ability to develop accurate budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support strategic decision-making
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey revenue strategies, market insights, and performance metrics to stakeholders at all levels
Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to adjust strategies in response to market fluctuations and operational needs while maintaining a strong focus on results
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred, with at least 3-5 years of experience in revenue management within a Marriott property
