Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Director of Rooms for The Farnam, Autograph Collection, in Omaha, NE. The Director of Rooms will oversee and manage the Front Office, Maintenance, and Housekeeping Departments, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage Front Office, Maintenance, and Housekeeping Departments
Work with Department Heads to manage day-to-day rooms operations
Ensure guest satisfaction/loyalty and drive continuous improvement processes
Assess hotel operational needs and proactively plan for exceptional guest service
Review operational excellence requirements with department heads and implement/evaluate programs
Participate in total hotel management activities as a member of the Hotel Executive Committee
Review forecasts and direct hotel actions to maximize profitability, increase service levels, and improve team member satisfaction
Ensure compliance with Greenwood Hospitality/Hotel Equities policies and procedures as well as brand standards
Lead executive committee/department heads to meet or exceed profit, service, and team member satisfaction goals
Speak with and respond to guests regarding service challenges
Provide leadership, guidance, and assistance relating to the annual Budget
Direct preparation of reports pertaining to the annual hotel Budget and Business Planning process
Plan, organize, chair, and/or participate in various hotel meetings
Analyze Department structure as it relates to operational effectiveness
Develop skills and abilities of direct reports
Assist General Manager in monitoring high potential Ambassadors and ensure their growth as leaders within the company
Requirements:
High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent
Experience with Marriott and Forbes processes and standards is strongly preferred
Advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management fields, especially Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Front Desk
Considerable working knowledge of other hotel areas and skills to integrate and communicate information
Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities or information
Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures for guidance
Highly developed communication skills in leading Ambassadors and guest satisfaction
Excellent speech and written skills
Excellent organization and project skills
Excellent literacy skills
Eye for detail
Mobility to walk through the front and back of the hotel
Passionate about people and service
Strong communication skills
Reading and writing abilities
Basic math skills
