In this role, you’ll use your knowledge of regional trends, actively respond to financial performance, provide strategic direction for the sales team, and ensure achievement of short and long term goals. You’ll direct and lead your team to achieve budgeted top-line revenues. Accountable for Sales and Marketing budget to assure appropriate spend. Act as the hotel ambassador by establishing relationships with the community to increase the hotel’s exposure. Work tactically with the Director of Revenue Management, Digital Marketing team to ensure a strategically symbolic relationship between all disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Strategist for Sales, Marketing and Profitability Initiatives
Develop and implement a marketing plan and budget to achieve established sales objectives
Manage turnover and work in parallel with the General Manager to maximize sales and profits and establish a pricing and selling price strategy
Provide the team with resources, training, coaching and moral support to do a good job
Coach and energize the sales force in order to create a sales culture within a team of competent, efficient and united members who want to maximize their abilities
Act as a coach who is able to challenge and empower the team in revenue growth
Participate in internal and external business activities and lead the managers of the different market segments
Implement Marriott marketing programs
Provide overall hotel marketing leadership with revenue generation initiatives and ROI controls
Establish public relations links in the various markets and ensure the representation of the hotel in the feeder markets through partnerships and participation in events
Ensure teamwork with department heads as a sales and marketing specialist
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required
Assume responsibility for other tasks as required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Business preferred
Minimum 5 years of sales experience
Marriott Brand Experience an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy
Ability to inspire, lead and develop a team by example
Act as owner of the hotel and communicate a clear sense of strategy and purpose
Well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up
Must possess excellent communication skills both internally and externally
Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions to benefit the hotel
Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs
Thoughtful, with strong selling skills, and emulates the Marriott Autograph Culture
