Job Description:

The District Support Pharmacist (DSP) role involves supporting CVS Health’s purpose to deliver compassionate, patient-focused care by covering pharmacist shifts across a district. Responsibilities include prescription dispensing, inventory management, patient counseling, immunizations, and adherence to pharmacy regulations. The role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and compliance with healthcare laws and CVS Health’s policies.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC)
Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Acting as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts
Contributing to positive patient experiences through compassionate care and proactive problem resolution
Delivering immunizations and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization
Effectively managing pharmacy inventory
Maintaining clinical and technical skills through training and educational opportunities
Supporting access to care through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
Complying with federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies.

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention to detail and focus
Customer service and team orientation
Communication skills
Mathematical reasoning
Problem resolution skills
Physical ability to lift and move items and conduct pharmacy tasks.

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
