Job Description:

The District Support Pharmacist (DSP) role at CVS Health is focused on supporting pharmacy operations across a district to ensure high-quality patient care. The position entails filling open shifts, overseeing pharmacy operations in absence of the Pharmacy Manager, dispensing medications accurately, providing immunizations, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibility:

Helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled
Overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during shifts
Ensuring prescription fulfillment accuracy by following pharmacy procedures
Contributing to positive patient experiences
Offering and delivering immunizations
Supporting inventory management
Maintaining clinical knowledge and completing company-required training
Assisting with pharmacist-delivered clinical care
Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention to detail and focus
Customer service orientation
Demonstrated communication skills
Mathematical reasoning
Problem resolution skills
Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and visual inspection
Expressing or exchanging ideas verbally.

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
