Job Description:

Our clients are a growing local non-profit firm looking for a highly skilled and motivated Donor Relations Specialist. This position will be responsible for managing donor communications, ensuring timely acknowledgment of contributions, and supporting fundraising efforts. The Donor Relations Specialist will work closely with the development team to maintain a positive donor experience and help build a sustainable donor base.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors
  • Acknowledge and thank donors promptly through personalized communications (letters, emails, phone calls, and event invitations)
  • Track and manage donor interactions and contributions in the donor management system
  • Prepare regular reports on donor activity, including giving history, engagement, and prospects for future contributions
  • Collaborate with the development team to create and implement donor engagement strategies, campaigns, and stewardship plans
  • Support the planning and execution of donor appreciation events and recognition programs
  • Assist in the creation of fundraising materials, including appeals, newsletters, and donor impact reports
  • Work with the Director of Development to identify new donor prospects and increase donor retention
  • Respond to donor inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in organizing donor-related events, including site visits, thank-you receptions, and special events

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in donor relations, customer service, or nonprofit fundraising
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling donor communications
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software (such as Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, or Salesforce)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • High level of professionalism and discretion in handling donor information
  • Passion for the mission and work of the organization, with a commitment to advancing its goals
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred)
