Job Description:

Responsible for the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. Directs and works with employees to verify property guestrooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Completes inspections and holds people accountable for corrective action. Position assists in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.

Job Responsibility:

  • Verify guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk
  • Inspect guestrooms daily
  • Obtain list of rooms to be cleaned and prepare work assignments
  • Inventory stock to verify adequate supplies
  • Support and supervise inspection program for guestrooms and public space
  • Manage department operations to achieve budgeted goals
  • Verify employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms
  • Communicate areas needing attention to staff
  • Supervise daily Housekeeping shift operations
  • Participate in departmental meetings
  • Train new room attendants
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees
  • Schedule employees to business demands
  • Verify property policies are administered fairly
  • Supervise staffing levels
  • Observe service behaviors of employees
  • Participate in employee recognition program
  • Solicit employee feedback
  • Participate in employee progressive discipline procedures
  • Celebrate successes and recognize team members
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
  • Participate in corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in the housekeeping or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • no work experience required
