Job Description:

Robert Half Legal is recruiting an Estate Planning Associate for a successful trusts & estates and tax boutique law firm in San Francisco’s Financial District. This is a great opportunity for an attorney passionate about wealth planning and tax preparation, looking for a partnership track position. Candidate will be responsible for working directly with high net worth families, preparing estate and gift tax returns, and managing a large caseload.

Job Responsibility:

Preparing income tax returns, such as estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 & 709)
Handling deeds
Drafting legal documents
Providing counseling to clients

Requirements:

2+ years of estate planning and trust administration experience
Candidate with experience preparing complicated estates and trusts (e.g., GRATs, CRUTs, QTIPs, etc.) for high-net-worth clients is ideal
Preference (but not required) for LL.M in taxation, or good knowledge of generation skipping
Must be interested in and capable of preparing income tax returns, such as estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 & 709)
Smart, intellectually curious about estate planning issues, able to work at a fast pace on a large caseload, and enjoy working directly with clients
Must be admitted and active with the State Bar
A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney
Proven skills in drafting legal documents
Experience with tax return preparations
Proficiency in probate & estate administration
Familiarity with handling deeds
Demonstrated knowledge in probate
Specialized in tax law
Strong legal writing skills
Experience in estate planning
Knowledge in real estate transfers
Proficient in red lining
Comfortable with providing counseling to clients
Excellent legal research skills

Nice to have:

Preference for LL.M in taxation
Good knowledge of generation skipping
