Job Description:

The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

Manage one or more Applications Development teams
Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas
Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development
Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data
Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results
Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
Design and develop high performance, low-latency trading applications
Partner with multiple technology, business/quant and external market teams
Coordinate testing of new functionality
Liaise with global support teams to manage application upgrades
Develop common, reusable components and services
Partner with business/quant teams to evolve architecture roadmap
Participate in agile/scrum development lifecycle

Requirements:

6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
Experience as Applications Development Manager
Experience as senior level in an Applications Development role
Stakeholder and people management experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
Proven project management skills
Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred

Nice to have:

Knowledge of fixed income financial products in either Rates or Spread Products domain
Experience in managing and leading development teams in a fast-paced front office capital markets trading environment
Ability to work in a global distributed team environment and build a high performing team
Ability to multi-task effectively and to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Ability to manage challenging stakeholders and deliver quality results in the required timeframe
Demonstrated technical leadership and project organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Self-motivated with the determination to achieve his/her goals
