Our client is a family law firm in Hanford, California seeking an experienced family law paralegal to join their tight-knit, dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a family law firm environment as well as excellent writing and drafting skills. This position requires daily attendance at the client's law firm office in Hanford.
Job Responsibility:
Support staff for attorney in various aspects of legal work including case management, document preparation, and client communication
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions and discovery request
Interview clients to gather necessary information for case preparation
Communicate with court personnel and opposing parties/counsel
Maintain client files and documents in a paperless office environment
Assist attorney in preparing for trails and hearings
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, and/or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two years proven experience as a paralegal in family law
Experience with family law programs: DissoMaster, Xspouse, Propertizer, and essential forms
Excellent writing and drafting skills
Proficient legal research
Knowledge of legal drafting principles and procedures
