Finance Director

• Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, ensuring smooth processing of AP, AR, GL, and consolidation activities
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP)
• Oversee the consolidation of financial results across multiple subsidiaries and ensure the integrity of financial data across regions
• Provide detailed financial reports to senior management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other management reports
• Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improving profitability and cost control
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with business goals
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making, business growth strategies, and operational efficiency
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to evaluate the financial health and performance of the business
• Manage the company’s cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships, ensuring sufficient funds for operations and expansion
• Oversee treasury activities, including cash forecasting, working capital management, and optimizing cash usage
• Ensure effective management of foreign exchange (FX) exposure and hedging strategies for regional operations
• Oversee the company’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance with all local tax laws and regulations across Southeast Asia
• Work with tax advisors and external consultants to manage tax planning, reporting, and audits
• Ensure that the company takes full advantage of available tax incentives and manages tax risks effectively
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-accountability work culture
• Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and coaching to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development
• Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial functions
• Act as a key business partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and advice to drive strategic decision-making
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., commercial, operations) to ensure financial and business objectives are met
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third-party service providers
• Ensure the implementation and monitoring of strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets
• Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly desirable
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior finance management position (preferably in the retail industry)
• Proven hands-on experience in managing AP, AR, GL, financial reporting, FP&A, treasury, and tax functions
• Strong experience in leading teams, with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop a large, diverse finance team
• Experience working in Southeast Asia markets and understanding of local financial regulations and taxation
• Experience in managing the financial processes for a multi-country, regional operation is a plus
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting, finance, and financial systems (ERP systems knowledge is a plus)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial management
• Strong leadership and people management skills with a hands-on approach to team development
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders
