Job Description:

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of local accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. You will manage daily accounting tasks, including cash management, balance sheet reconciliation, and tax obligations, while collaborating with global finance teams on strategic initiatives. You will also lead process enhancements, manage administrative functions, and develop your team to meet company objectives.

Job Responsibility:

Manage all local accounting activities, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies
Oversee cash management and drive cash flow improvements
Handle balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls, and tax compliance
Collaborate with global finance on treasury, FP&A, and inventory management
Identify and implement improvements to global and local financial processes
Establish robust financial processes for new business ventures
Participate in ad-hoc projects and drive efficiency improvements across the finance function and related areas
Use benchmarking to improve other business functions
Supervise office administration tasks
Manage payroll and benefits accounting, including vendor oversight
Train and develop staff in alignment with company culture and values

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Demonstrated expertise in IFRS or USGAAP financial reporting
Practical experience using financial systems/platforms
Knowledge and experience in Japanese tax reporting
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Business-level fluency in Japanese (or equivalent certification)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
