Job Description:

The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial operations, reporting, and strategy for the company. This role will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in driving financial performance, business insights, and growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep expertise in retail finance, and a proven track record of managing financial processes and teams.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and manage all financial operations, reporting, and strategy
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with local accounting standards and IFRS
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide detailed financial analysis and insights
Monitor cash flow and working capital
Develop and implement strategies for efficient cash management
Maintain and strengthen internal control systems
Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures
Coordinate with internal and external auditors
Lead and mentor the finance team
Partner with senior leadership to drive long-term financial strategies
Support decision-making processes
Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools
Drive process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance
At least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in retail or consumer goods
Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and business practices in Malaysia
Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience in managing teams and collaborating with senior leadership
High proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
Strong communication skills
