Job Description:

The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial operations, reporting, and strategy for the company. This role will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in driving financial performance, business insights, and growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep expertise in retail finance, and a proven track record of managing financial processes and teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, reporting, and strategy
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with local accounting standards and IFRS
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient cash management
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control systems
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors
  • Lead and mentor the finance team
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive long-term financial strategies
  • Support decision-making processes
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools
  • Drive process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance
  • At least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in retail or consumer goods
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and business practices in Malaysia
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Experience in managing teams and collaborating with senior leadership
  • High proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills
