Job Description:

The role involves guiding the daily operations of the Accounting department, ensuring precise and prompt processing of all departmental tasks. You will also play a key role in staff development, ensuring service provided to employees is both courteous and efficient.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop written procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with accounting activities within the organization
  • Act as mentor for employees by coaching and offering feedback to help improve performance
  • Supervise the preparation of general ledger and subledger account reconciliations by the Accounting staff, ensuring accounts are balanced and outstanding items are cleared within set deadlines
  • Assist with month-end processing, income and expense review, and financial statement preparation
  • Act as back-up for all Accounting desks including Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Investment Accounting
  • Assist in the review of the quarterly Call Report and preparation of financial information gathering for auditors, examiners, and regulators
  • Train and supervise the daily work of accounting employees, addressing questions, concerns, and assisting with job-related problems
  • Cross-train Accounting staff to ensure all positions are supported during vacations and illnesses and to promote employee growth and development
  • Assist with software upgrade reviewing and testing, and approve AP and GL posting batches
  • Assist with the sales and use tax filing to the State Board of Equalization

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
  • Experience with BlackLine software
  • Knowledge of EPS (Earnings Per Share) accounting
  • Competence in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Ability to perform all essential Accounting Functions
  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Proven experience in Auditing
  • Experience with Balance Sheet Account management
  • Familiarity with Budget Processes
