Job Description:

Randstad is looking for a Forecasting Analyst on behalf of ZeniΘ, the 1st provider of integrated energy in Greece, with natural gas and electricity. The Forecasting Analyst will support load forecasting activities and develop forecasting techniques for energy consumption. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading company in the energy sector.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support operationally the load forecasting activity
  • Produce accurate energy (electricity and gas) consumption forecasts for the company’s clients portfolio, both B2C and B2B
  • Develop and execute various load forecasting techniques, including univariate forecasting, multivariate forecasting, end-use forecasting, spatial load forecasting, peak demand forecasting, or combination of the above
  • Develop and execute time series forecasting such as ARIMA models, ANN models, and SVM models
  • Utilize trending techniques like linear trend, non-linear trend (quadratic), exponential trend, cumulative average growth rate (CAGR)
  • Conduct cluster analysis for industrial, commercial, and residential customers in gas and power
  • Analyze factors affecting mid-to long-term load forecasting and customer consumption behavior
  • Monitor energy consumption patterns
  • Develop load scenario generation and load scenario reduction techniques
  • Work with big data
  • Produce advanced data visualization
  • Conduct back-testing analysis
  • Monitor consumption deviations against initial forecasts (related KPIs)
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management and Marketing & Sales for campaign management
  • Report activity relative to forecasting issues

Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role with programming languages
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Informatics, Physics, or related field
  • A Master’s/PhD in Data/Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, or Economics will be a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a similar role, experience in power and gas markets is an advantage
  • Knowledge of quantitative analysis, demand forecasting, machine learning, and data visualization/BI tools
  • Proficiency in Python/PySpark or MATLAB
  • MySQL knowledge is a plus
  • Fluent in Greek and English (oral & written)

Nice to have:

  • A Master’s/PhD in Data/Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, or Economics
  • Experience in power and gas markets
  • MySQL knowledge
