The Voyage Global Leadership Development Program is a full-time, paid development program for recent university graduates. It provides hands-on, discipline-specific training and a leadership-focused curriculum at a Marriott International managed hotel. The program spans 12-18 months and includes real-world assignments, mini-rotations across disciplines, and opportunities to connect with senior leaders and coaches. Participants gain experience in various hotel functions and are prepared for supervisory or entry-level management roles upon graduation.
Job Responsibility:
Cultivate customer relationships
Be a champion for innovation within the organization
Get exposure to managing projects & people
Improve processes & pitch new initiatives through your Voyage project
Take on special projects that will draw upon all your training
Meeting, greeting and providing assistance to ensure maximum guest satisfaction
Answer, record, and process all guest requests, questions or concerns
Liaising with guests, finding out their preferences and updating their Opera profiles
Managing and swiftly resolving guest complaints
Anticipate our guests needs and be able to thing outside the box to create tailored experiences that leave our guests with lasting memories
Organize and coordinate group check-in/pre-registration procedures
Sell a room/accommodation to guests without reservations
Anticipate sold-out situations, identify how many rooms are over-committed
Block rooms in the computer, identify designated requirements
Run and check daily reports/contingency lists
Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
Set tables according to type of event and service standards
Answer questions on menu selections
Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability
Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
Check with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent higher level education required (Associates degree acceptable for Culinary)
Superior critical-thinking & interpersonal communication skills
The ability to foster relationships & work collaboratively
The ability to self-manage & be a self-starter
A real desire for personal & professional growth
