Job Description:

The general maintenance worker is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on facility plumbing, electric, heating and cooling, and other building systems. They should feel confident prioritizing assigned work orders, documenting completed tasks, and coordinating with maintenance management to reduce downtime.

Job Responsibility:

Perform all tasks in accordance to all OSHA and Facility safety guidelines
Inspect assets according to preventive maintenance schedules
Perform basic repairs that do not require specialized technicians, such as painting and repairing fixtures
Track, order, and restock supplies needed for O&M
Perform routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage
Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage
Maintain PIT Batteries and Charging Systems
Collaborate with maintenance team and contractors as needed
Apply knowledge of Lock-out Tag-out procedures

Requirements:

Ability to read, write and count accurately
Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule or overtime as required, to include shift rotation
Ability to work safely with and around operating mechanical systems
Ability to work within a team atmosphere
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems
Ability to be trained in Lock-out Tag-out procedures as an 'Authorized' user
Working knowledge of problem solving and decision-making skills
