Job Description:

An opportunity to become part of a top-tier Global Construction Underwriting team in London. The ideal candidate will contribute their firsthand knowledge of the construction industry to assist in evaluating risks and selecting assets for their portfolio. They will assume significant responsibilities early on and interact closely with brokers, clients, and the company’s risk engineering and claims teams.

Job Responsibility:

Build and enhance relationships with brokers, industry associations, business partners, reinsurers, and colleagues
Continuously advance expertise and technical acumen through suitable development programs
Underwrite insurance risks in alignment with the business plan and personal authority
Ensuring compliance with contract certainty requirements for the production and issuance of documentation
Stay abreast of all advised Construction claims
Assist in coordinating Risk Engineering activities for the existing portfolio
Contribute to and influence the review and analysis of the portfolio
Ensure accurate and timely recording of entries in relevant systems
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to mitigate risk

Requirements:

Strong experience within the construction sector of the insurance industry
Effective and compelling communication skills
Proficiency in analysing and utilising data to make informed decisions
Meticulous attention to detail
Familiarity with pertinent market conditions pertaining to specific classes/portfolios
Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
Comprehension of class-specific underwriting principles and reinsurance practices
