Job Description:

The Handyman/Gardener position at African Pride Hotel by Marriott Melrose Arch Autograph Collection involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance, general cleaning, and minor repairs in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces. The role requires physical tasks, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent guest service skills.

Job Responsibility:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces
Maintain, repair, and clean all guest rooms
Report maintenance problems or safety hazards
Address guests' service needs
Follow company safety and security policies
Develop positive working relationships with others

Requirements:

High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent
At least 1 year related work experience
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures
Ability to follow safety and security policies
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Nice to have:

Experience in hotel maintenance
Knowledge of Hazardous Material Management Program procedures
Familiarity with Marriott International standards
