You will plan, coordinate and supervise the engineering activities for EDPR’s APAC Solar PV, BESS and Onshore Wind projects (and associated infrastructures), in accordance with the investment plan, complying with deadlines, local technical requirements, specifications, standards and industry best practices, while optimizing costs. The Engineering activities play a key role in the lifetime operation of the project, from development to construction, as well as operations.
Job Responsibility:
Define, in conjunction with the global Engineering teams, the technical standards to be applied in each country, balancing compliance, quality and cost implications
Lead the team in defining engineering best practices to be applied in projects
Manage tender and document preparation for the selection of Engineering companies, focused in detailed designs, field studies or external projects due diligence
Ensure application of specifications and quality standards in projects and designs, while minimizing Capex and ensuring project profitability
Manage supplier technical evaluation
Coordinate Capex budget preparation, while maintaining an overall view of project profitability
Engage central teams in Europe for specific technical studies and advice, minimizing risks throughout construction
Lead the transfer of projects to the Construction Team, in order to optimize construction lead times, guaranteeing the coordination and technical quality during project transfer
Support local Business Development teams in matters where technical expertise is required (e.g. grid connection)
Evaluate team performance and overall impact in the business, and suggest actions for improvement
Establish a trusted relationship with the local teams in each country
Manage the team and problem-solve on specific issues that might be found during project development
Promote and foster an open-minded and collaborative attitude within the team
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
A postgraduate in Renewable Energies will be valued
At least 10-year experience in BESS/Wind/Solar PV Power Plants and HV infrastructure projects
Experience in technical teams management
Experience in managing tender processes with external contractors and vendors
Proficiency in project budgeting and scheduling
PV Plants, High Voltage Lines and Electrical Substations projects
Knowledge of International technical normative
Proven track record of effective communications with project stakeholders
Good project management skills with ability to report in a clear and concise manner
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to lead a multi-national team, with persons in different countries and labor calendar
Ability to perform duties in a collaborative, multi-national working environment
Curiosity and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Problem-solving skills and open-minded attitude
Communicative and sociable
Skilled in project management frameworks (eg. Gantt Chart/Scrum/PMP)
