Job Description:

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Scientific Projects to oversee the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of its Scientific Projects. The role involves managing project portfolios, ensuring compliance with GMP, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensures that all RFQs are addressed and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Ensures coordination of the assigned projects and manages each site’s project portfolio
  • Maintains and develops strong customer relationships
  • Ensures that all transfer products are coordinated between clients and/or internal transfers according to the company's project management standards
  • Develops and manages appropriate project plans, including identifying and allocating resources, budgets, timelines and milestones, and leads the project process
  • Implements action plans, as needed, in order to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Coordinates and tracks time, costs and quality to smooth the transfer for routine production
  • Manages the relationship between clients, corporate functions and the Project Team
  • Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget and that they meet all project requirements
  • Oversees all aspects of projects, including requirements, development, testing, deployment and documentation
  • Prepares reports for senior management and clients on the status of projects
  • Makes appropriate changes to project plans and communicates to all parties involved
  • Interacts with client representatives to track project status and progress
  • Identifies needs to address existing and potential problems and risks
  • Leads and organizes the Technical Services Steering Committee
  • Guarantees that all the activities of his/her area are carried out under GMP, ISO and related Quality directives
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards
  • Ensures annual ISO 14.001 and OSHAS 18000 revalidation in area of responsibility
  • Studies, prepares and executes the budget of his/her area in collaboration with Finance Department
  • Organizes and coordinates Technical Services team to create positive work environment and maximize efficiency
  • Carries out company's HR policies for team (recruitment, induction, training and development)
  • Develops training plan for team in collaboration with Human Resources Department
  • Motivates and develops staff to meet needs of individuals and business
  • Distributes work and organizes team to ensure results
  • Ensures effective flow of information between teams and other departments.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience in a similar position preferably in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food industry
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Economics or other Life Science
  • A scientific Master degree is considered an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Excellent use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and maintain detailed project plans, budgets and timelines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges
  • General financial awareness
  • Strong account management skills
  • Enthusiastic and well-informed, dynamic and proactive with a 'can do' attitude
  • Possesses strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong team working abilities, developing effective working relationships with both customers and other departments
  • Ability to systematically question and challenge the status quo to drive improved results, with a well thought-through manner
  • Flexible, open minded and result-oriented
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP and regulatory requirements
  • Training or working knowledge in Project Management, project management certification (PMP or similar) is a plus.
