Job Description:

A nonprofit organization is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Homework Assistant to support students in completing academic assignments in a structured and encouraging environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and youth development, helping students build confidence, improve their study habits, and succeed academically.

Job Responsibility:

Provide academic support to students in various subjects, including Math, English, Science, and Social Studies
Assist students in understanding assignments and developing problem-solving skills
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking
Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
Track student progress and communicate any challenges or achievements to program coordinators and guardians
Ensure a safe and welcoming space for all participants
Support the mission and goals of the organization by collaborating with staff, volunteers, and community partners
Participate in training and meetings as required

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred)
Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with youth in an educational setting is a plus
Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
