Job Description:

The HR Coordinator will serve as the initial point of contact for employees and management for routine policy-related questions, records and data integrity, front-line permanent staffing, and leaves of absence. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the primary contact for routine employee inquiries and basic policy and procedure questions
  • Identify issues and grievances that require management involvement or intervention
  • Maintain the Human Resource Information System and ensure data integrity through self-audits and proper documentation
  • Manage records and documents for employee data transactions such as permanent staff additions and terminations, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policy
  • Administer and track leaves of absence, determine eligibility, create paperwork in a timely manner, and answer questions regarding leaves
  • Participate in recruitment efforts by assisting managers with gathering approvals for requisitions, maintaining the applicant tracking system, reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, initiating and tracking background checks, and creating offer letters
  • Coordinate and conduct new permanent staff orientation and on-boarding activities
  • Prepare reports as requested
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by the HR Manager or Group HR Manager
  • Handle other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience with Background Checks
  • Proficiency in managing Benefit Functions
  • Exceptional Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Experience in handling Medical Grievances
  • Ability to manage Union Grievances effectively
  • Familiarity with I-9 Compliance procedures
  • Proven expertise in Human Resources (HR) Administration
  • Proficient in using Human resources software
  • Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software
  • Understanding of Disability Benefits management
  • Experience in handling Disability Claims
