We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a HR Generalist based in a location in Illinois. This role primarily serves a manufacturing and office environment facility with over 225 employees, spanning two shifts. The HR Generalist will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, from recruitment and selection, onboarding, associate relations, to performance management and corrective action.
Job Responsibility:
Handling recruitment and selection processes for the facility
Ensuring smooth onboarding of new employees
Managing associate relations and coaching
Overseeing performance management and corrective action procedures
Facilitating teambuilding, leadership and organizational development
Participating in change management and training initiatives
Conducting exit interviews and providing insights for improvement
Managing negotiations for collective bargaining agreements
Interpreting collective bargaining agreements and determining the company's position on contract discrepancies and disciplinary matters
Monitoring and reporting on employee relations issues including grievances, investigations, and performance issues
Recommending changes in policies and procedures for increased efficiency, lower absenteeism, cost savings, and other benefits
Facilitating talent and succession planning, career pathing, and performance appraisal processes
Initiating proactive partnerships with functional managers to identify opportunities for business improvement
Providing strategic and day-to-day tactical HR support for assigned client groups
Examining organizational structures and work processes and recommending improvements
Staying abreast of industry and HR trends, standards, and best practices and applying this knowledge in daily activities
Establishing and maintaining department records and reports
Preparing and presenting required and special reports for contract negotiations, attendance, and other matters
Coordinating special meetings of employees and training classes as requested by management
Developing and implementing programs to address employee morale
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in a HR Generalist role or similar
Proficiency in HRIS - Human Resources Information Systems
Demonstrated ability to handle Union Contracts and Union Grievances
In-depth knowledge of HR Policy and HR Compliance
Experience in FMLA administration
Strong skills in Employee Relations
Proven track record in Compliance within a HR context
Extensive experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
