Job Description:

Short-term contract employment opportunity for a skilled Illustrator in Arlington, Virginia. As an Illustrator, you will translate complex data into engaging visuals for the Earth Systems team. The role involves creating graphic illustrations focused on charts, graphs, and technical infographics, with possible involvement in broader design tasks across the organization in the future.

Job Responsibility:

Transform provided assets such as data, sketches, etc., into graphic illustrations and visualizations
work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
use industry-standard design software proficiently, such as Adobe Creative Suite
create detailed illustrations focusing on technical and scientific subjects
collaborate with the team to translate complex data into clear and engaging visuals
extend support to other design requests across the organization as needed
maintain efficiency in a fast-paced workflow
ensure all illustrations and visualizations are accurately aligned with the provided data
adapt to evolving design requests and tasks

Requirements:

Several years of experience in graphic illustrations and visualizations
proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
proficiency in Adobe Dreamweaver
skills in Adobe Flash
mastery of Adobe Illustrator
experience in creating advertisements
knowledge of animation techniques
ability to create artwork for various purposes
understanding of brand awareness strategies
knowledge of CSS
