Job Description:

Are you passionate about building and maintaining the backbone of a digital ecosystem? We’re looking for a skilled Infrastructure Database Principal Engineer to join our dynamic and high-performing team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining our organization’s robust database systems, focusing on technical excellence, security, and operational efficiency to drive business success.

Job Responsibility:

Designing and implementing database systems, including deploying and managing cloud databases
Allocating resources across storage, compute, and memory for database operations
Developing and maintaining strategies focusing on high availability (HA), failover, disaster recovery (DR), and replication
Performance tuning for scalability, monitoring query performance, and optimizing indexing
Establishing and enforcing access controls, authentication guidelines, and encryption practices
Monitoring database performance, security, and availability to preempt disruptions
Managing backup systems and overseeing disaster recovery procedures
Collaborating with development teams to optimize database usage and performance
Orchestrating database migration efforts for cloud platforms, particularly Azure
Staying informed about the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in Azure ecosystem

Requirements:

7–9 years of experience in database administration for systems like Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 LUW, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
5–7 years of experience working on large-scale databases or enterprise projects
3–5 years of hands-on experience with cloud-first database frameworks, such as Azure SQL, Azure SQL MI, and Azure SQL for PostgreSQL
1–3 years experience working with NoSQL databases, including one or more of the following technologies: MongoDB, DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Neo4j, or Neptune
Knowledge of Microsoft DevOps tools and PowerShell scripting
Advanced knowledge of SQL Server Administration
At least 2 years of professional experience with PostgreSQL
A minimum of 1 year of experience with NoSQL databases
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (BS/BA)

Nice to have:

Azure certifications that demonstrate an advanced understanding of cloud platforms
Familiarity with Kubernetes along with practical knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB
