Job Description:

Job Responsibility:

Compiles and reconciles discrepancies found with book inventory to ensure products remain in-stock
determines the root cause of inventory variances
communicates deviations from expected outcomes to internal teams
processes returns, warranty claims, recalls, expired materials, and/or exchanges for the distribution department through an internal electronic system
conducts cycle counts of all inventories for domestically and internationally shipped items, as well as intermittent counts requested by management, buyers, accounting, merchandise billing, or production
collaborates with corporate to ensure all seasonal inventory is sized, billed, and shipped to stores on time
processes damaged stock items within the distribution department and repairs items to stock when possible
audits team performance within the distribution department and reports performance evaluations with feedback and recommendations
measures and prepares new inventory for stock, corrects sizing discrepancies in stock, and optimizes inventory placement in the distribution center for ergonomics and pick efficiency
operates turret trucks, electric pallet jacks, or any other mobile-powered equipment in a safe, responsible manner as defined in the D.C. Operation Training and Certification Program and through management directives.

Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, pull, climb, bend, reach, and stoop for an extended period of time
occasional medium lifting requirements (0-20 lbs.) and an occasional heavy lifting requirement (up to 75 lbs.)
ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently with minimal supervision
ability to read, write, and count accurately
good written and verbal communication skills
attention to detail for load accuracy
ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally (courteous and cordial)
basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills
ability to work in a fast-paced environment
proven ability to be a collaborator who is comfortable working in a team-based environment

familiarity with warehouse management system (WMS) is a plus
basic computer skills and comfortable working on a computer or tablet
0-3 years of previous warehouse experience is preferred.
