Job Description:

The role involves the management of the company’s IP portfolio, the preparation and filing of IP applications, and ensuring compliance with IP laws and regulations across global operations. The successful candidate will also conduct research on IP-related matters and provide support for IP infringement monitoring and enforcement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Organize and maintain the company’s IP portfolio, which includes patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of IP applications, renewals, and maintenance with the help of a third-party provider
  • Ensure all IP filings and registrations are up to date and track deadlines and renewals
  • Liaise with external IP counsel, regulatory agencies, and foreign IP authorities as necessary
  • Monitor IP-related activities across global operations and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with IP laws and regulations
  • Conduct research on trademark availability, patent landscapes, and competitor IP, providing summaries and insights to support IP strategy development
  • Identify potential infringements and assist in enforcing IP rights, supporting legal actions as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage IP conflicts and disputes, coordinating with outside counsel as necessary
  • Provide guidance and training to business units regarding IP policies and processes and assist in resolving issues related to IP management
  • Assist in audits and provide data for IP-related reports to senior management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IP Paralegal
  • Proficiency in using 3M
  • Experience with Aderant software
  • Skilled in Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with athenahealth software
  • Proficient in Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)
  • Strong briefing skills
  • Ability to manage calendars efficiently
  • Experience in claim administration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in handling complaints
  • Specialization in Intellectual Property - Trademark
  • Experience with Trademark - Affidavits of Use
  • Knowledge of Trademark Application process
  • Experience in dealing with Trademark Infringement
  • Familiarity with Trademark Office procedures
  • Experience in Trademark Prosecution
  • Proficiency in managing Trademark Renewals
