Job Description:

The role involves providing hardware, software, and mobile support within the business and IT users primarily in West Des Moines. As an IT Desktop Support Specialist, you'll be tasked with maintaining and updating PC hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and communicating with various stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Efficiently and accurately process requests related to break/fix incidents and move/add/change
  • Ensure regular monitoring of systems to maintain operation efficiency and accuracy
  • Handle the installation, maintenance, and updates of PC hardware and software
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders about status, risks, quality, and operations
  • Troubleshoot issues related to PC hardware for laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Identify potential areas of improvement, escalate when necessary, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Utilize your knowledge of the Windows 10/11 operating system to troubleshoot PC software issues
  • Leverage strong analytical skills to make decisions, use independent judgment, and establish priorities
  • Work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently while maintaining good attention to detail
  • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills in all aspects of the role

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role as an IT Desktop Support Specialist
  • Proficiency in computer hardware including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Practical knowledge of backup technologies to ensure data safety and recovery
  • Experience in computer imaging and desktop imaging, for creating standard desktop images and deployment
  • Demonstrable skills in desktop support, including resolving hardware and software issues
  • Ability to support mobile devices, including setup, troubleshooting, and user assistance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with end users and team members
  • Relevant certifications or degree in Information Technology or related field would be an advantage
