Job Description:

Lawes are partnering with a top-tier insurance firm, seeking a Lead Trading Underwriter to join one of their specialist underwriting teams. You’ll drive profitable growth, primarily Mid-Market, in the real estate segment.

Job Responsibility:

Profitably and consistently underwrite both new and existing business
Build and maintain strong trading relationships with a panel of brokers
Generate profitable business from the assigned broker panel
Lead meetings, presentations, and tender responses with brokers and clients
Mentor, train, and develop Senior Underwriters
Serve as the referral point for Senior Underwriters within the team
Oversee and review underwriting standards and licensing within the team
Champion and implement the business strategy and product offerings

Requirements:

Extensive London Market property/real estate underwriting experience
Strong negotiation and sales expertise
Proven experience in managing large cases and portfolios within the real estate sector
Familiarity with key stakeholders in the London Market real estate industry
Well-developed networking and relationship-building abilities
In-depth understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in insurance
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to thrive in a target-oriented environment
