Job Description:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with substantial experience supporting a busy litigation practice. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exhibits strong organizational skills, and is comfortable balancing competing priorities. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft, prepare, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • File documents electronically in federal and state courts while ensuring compliance with court requirements
  • Monitor and track critical legal deadlines using CompuLaw software, and proactively send reminders to attorneys and staff regarding upcoming deadlines
  • Save and organize documents and emails in iManage, the firm’s document management system, ensuring ease of access and consistency
  • Obtain case-related documents from online court directories and other resources as needed
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and other calendar commitments
  • Make travel arrangements for attorneys and manage related expense report processing
  • Process client disbursements and maintain accurate financial records for case-related expenses
  • Organize, maintain, and update case files to ensure all materials and correspondence are properly filed and accessible

Requirements:

  • 3 years of law firm work experience, in a litigation group
  • Computer proficiency
  • Experience with court filing systems in multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrable document management experience

Nice to have:

  • Proven experience working in a busy litigation-focused legal environment
  • Proficiency with tools such as CompuLaw and iManage or equivalent software solutions
  • Experience with electronic filing systems for federal and state courts
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
