Job Description:

A reputable law firm is seeking a meticulous and proactive Legal Cashier to join its Finance Team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to thrive in a fast-paced legal setting, ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of financial operations across both treasury and matter management functions.

Job Responsibility:

Conducting daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently
Managing BACS payments, disbursements, direct debits, standing orders, and transfers between client and office accounts
Overseeing daily banking activities, billing, credit notes, and write-offs within the Matter Management team
Handling finance-related queries via the firm’s finance helpdesk, providing prompt and professional support
Ensuring adherence to SRA Accounts Rules and contributing to financial compliance and best practices
Collaborating with the finance team to meet departmental deadlines, maintaining clear and consistent communication

Requirements:

Previous experience in a Legal Cashier, Finance, Treasury, or Accounts role
Understanding of SRA Accounts Rules (or a willingness to develop knowledge with training support)
Experience using Proclaim case management software is desirable
Strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and resolve issues with a solution-focused approach
Exceptional customer service skills, with a professional and confident communication style
