Job Description:

We are offering a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Legal Secretary in Dallas, Texas. The role involves managing legal documents, client interactions, and calendar schedules. It requires litigation experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinates multi-documents for filing, formatting as appropriate for each court
  • E-files in both State and Federal courts
  • Maintains and organizes case information in Court Alert
  • Prepares notebooks, binders, exhibits, and documentation as needed
  • Opens new client/matter files and runs conflict checks
  • Organizes and maintains all documents in the document management system
  • Proofreads documents for grammar, punctuation, syntax, and formatting consistency
  • Manages calendar and assists timekeepers in meeting deadlines
  • Coordinates conferences, meetings, and video conferencing scheduling
  • Handles billing process, including time entry and memos
  • Receives clients and visitors with excellent customer service
  • Handles check requests, travel expenses, and travel arrangements
  • Processes attorneys’ admissions to jurisdictions and memberships
  • Coordinates CLEs for attorneys.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years Litigation experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), document management systems (NetDocs), billing software (Carpe Diem), and expense software (Chrome River)
  • Solid experience working in ECF and Texas state e-filing systems
  • Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures
  • Ability to prepare complex documents using advanced word processing features including styles, section formatting, merge, tables, redlining, cross referencing, indices, table of contents, table of authorities, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, proof-reading skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining quality work
  • Above-average customer service skills
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
