Job Description:

Robert Half is hiring a meticulous Legal Secretary to join their team in Royal Oak, Michigan. The role involves transcribing dictation, preparing legal documents, organizing files, and handling electronic filings. Candidates should be detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and capable of working independently in a high-pressure environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Transcribe dictation using a Dictaphone
  • handle the preparation of memoranda, briefs, and motion documents
  • maintain and organize files
  • schedule matters and maintain attorney calendars
  • electronic filing in various courts
  • manage high volume settings
  • handle confidential information with discretion.

Requirements:

  • Transcribe dictation accurately using a Dictaphone
  • handle the preparation of memoranda, briefs, and motion documents
  • effectively maintain and organize files
  • schedule matters while maintaining attorney calendars
  • possess experience with electronic filing in various courts, including federal
  • capable of working in a paperless office environment
  • must be technologically proficient
  • manage high volume settings effectively
  • candidate must possess a strong understanding and experience with drafting Affidavits
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail are required
  • strong written and verbal communication skills are a necessity
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, is expected
  • must have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • experience in a law firm or legal environment is preferred
  • demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to build relationships with clients and staff
  • knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is beneficial
  • the willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software used in the legal field
  • strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
  • must have a detail-oriented demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive work environment
  • ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations effectively
  • experience in handling legal documentation and correspondence is preferred.
