Job Description:

A well-established and reputable civil defense firm located in DTLA is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic team. This Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys with all aspects of civil litigation, including document preparation, case management, legal research, discovery, trial preparation, and more.

Job Responsibility:

provide comprehensive litigation support for civil defense cases
draft, review, and file legal documents
assist attorneys with trial preparation
coordinate the discovery process
conduct legal research
communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel
prepare deposition summaries
maintain case files
manage filing deadlines, court dates, and other important timelines
assist with settlement negotiations

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal
strong background in civil defense litigation
proficient in legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
familiarity with court rules and procedures for both state and federal courts
strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
knowledge of eDiscovery platforms and document management systems is preferred
paralegal certification (e.g., from NALA, NFPA, or other recognized institutions) is required
