Job Description:

As a Machinist at Baxter, you will be responsible for the proper performance and quality of a wide range of manufacturing processes. This includes setting up and operating various machinery and equipment, performing CNC programming, ensuring quality and preventative maintenance, and contributing to team problem-solving efforts. This role supports Baxter's mission of saving and sustaining lives by producing high-quality products for healthcare industries.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure all required materials are on hand and equipment is in order
move stock and material
mount, position and adjust various cutting tools, adapters, collets, pushers, cams, threading devices and other tooling as needed to make a quality part as determined by drawing specifications and set-up guidelines
set the proper feeds and speeds to ensure that a quality part is produced consistently
program CNC machinery, design and formulate programs which will produce a part in blueprint specifications
create and troubleshoot programs, and make necessary adjustments to programs or machine settings to produce parts
use the correct job procedures/instructions, drawings, specifications, sequence of operations, perform and document quality checks
make preventative maintenance checks to ensure proper lubrication and coolant levels
responsible for timely and accurate labor reporting
participate in team activities and problem solving sessions
evaluate defective material and tooling, faulty operations, questionable conditions and potential work stoppages
advise and recommend alternatives

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
must pass a machine set up test
may be required to pass a tow motor test
